Benefits of Certification
The Certification module helps your organization grant credits to customers for activities or achievements. For many organizations, these credits are in the form of CEUs (continuing education units) that customers are required to complete in order to maintain a certain status or designation in their profession or industry. The Certification module gives you great flexibility in the design of these requirements, allowing you to adapt your system to the unique conditions and qualifying factors of your organization's certification program.
The Certification module integrates with several other iMIS modules.
Customer Management
- Uses customer contact files that are maintained in the Customer Management module as student files for certification programs
- Uses the customer records of students registering for components, as well as component providers and component instructors
- Generates activity records when a student enrolls in a program or when the component registration record is purged, if the appropriate option is enabled. See Customers: Set up module.
Events
- Generates Certification CEU credits from attendance at event functions
- Creates CEU activity records when an event is closed and when program participants receive appropriate corresponding certification component credits
AR/Cash
- Generates accounting entries when a certification order is entered
- Tracks and records balances owed
- Generates invoices for certification orders
Orders
- Automatically generates orders when a student registers for a component unless you elect to suppress this functionality.
- (You also can elect to suppress the creation of orders that have no cost associated with them or automatically create orders only when there is a cost associated with the component.) View component orders through the Enter and edit orders window.
- Creates CERTIFY activity records when the component order is invoiced
