Billing

If you want members and website users to purchase subscription products separately from membership fees and subscriptions, you can create a billing cycle used exclusively for non-membership subscriptions. You can also use a subscription billing cycle to allow users to renew their existing subscriptions outside of the membership renewal process.

A billing cycle is another name for a billing run. Define a billing cycle to bill a particular group of people for a particular set of products.

You can define the categories to which you assign each customer record. These types designate the broad classification of customer categories. Assign a different type to each major customer class (Individual Member, Associate Member, Student Member, Hotel, and so forth) and at least one type to the Nonmember category.

The Billing products window in the Advanced Accounting Console is used to define or create product codes for products that will be billed or for which your organization collects money. The Billing products window defines product line items, default pricing, and entity and General Ledger account information. Only products with defined product codes can be billed.

AutoPay provides organizations the ability to support automatic renewal of membership fees and recurring donations. AutoPay uses a tokenization engine (DataVault) to process credit card and bank account information for recurring payments while maintaining PCI compliance.
