Description

Enter a detailed description of the billing rule for the specified customer type. This field is for reference only and is not displayed on any bill or report.

Base from Formula

Enable when a formula is to be added to the base amount. This option is available only when the Numeric Table, Alpha Table, or Exact Match option is enabled.

Flat Amount

Use this setting for assigning customer type fees that vary by billing category or rates for non-customer type products whose fees vary by customer type. If you select this option, enter a Base Amount value.

Amount from field

Use this setting to reference an exact rate or to enter a formula that calculates a rate based upon a field. If you select this option, enter a user-defined field in the Source Field. For example, Name_All.ACTIVITY_FEE, or an SQL calculation that references such fields.

Numeric Table

Use this setting to vary rates according to numeric values. You can establish sliding rates based on income/volume, or rates based on length of certification. This option supports a maximum of 20 rows and prompts you to enter numeric values (units/code) and rates (base amount) that serve as starting levels for applying pricing guidelines. An optional additional per-unit charge can be entered in the Amt/Add'l Unit field.

Alpha Table

This field prompts you to complete a table of alphanumeric values. Like the Numeric Table option, this option looks for a range rather than an exact match. Use this setting to create sliding rates based on values matched to alphanumeric or character fields.

Exact Match

Use this field to restrict a character field to an exact match. Enter a setting to create exact rates based on values exactly matched to character fields.

Source Field

Specifies a user-defined field that references the value entered in the Amount from field field. This option is available only when the Amount from field, Numeric Table, Alpha Table, or Exact Match option is enabled.

Units/Code

Specifies the numeric values that serve as starting levels for applying pricing guidelines. This option is available only when the Numeric Table, Alpha Table, or Exact Match option is enabled.

Base Amount

Specifies a rate that serve as a starting level for applying pricing guidelines. This option is available only when the Flat Amount, Numeric Table, Alpha Table, or Exact Match option is enabled.

Amt/Add'l Unit

Specifies an optional additional per-unit charge. This option is available only when the Numeric Table option is enabled.
