Customers synchronization behavior
Synchronization behavior is dependent on the address purpose selected in the Customer Setup - Address and Notes window (Synchronize Phone Numbers & Email area).
Note: If you populate a field on a mapped address tab that does not contain an address, make sure to enter an address to avoid blank address labels.
- If None is selected, the field on the Profile tab can be edited and the value in the field is not automatically synchronized with any field on any address purpose tab.
- If a value other than None is selected and:
- The mapped field on the address tab is not blank - The field on the Profile tab is automatically populated with the value from the mapped field on the address tab and is read-only.
- The mapped field on the Main address tab is blank, but the field on the Profile tab is not blank - The mapped field on the main address tab is automatically populated with the value from the field on the Profile tab.
- The mapped field on a secondary address tab is blank, but the field on the Profile tab is not blank - The mapped field on the secondary address tab is automatically populated with the value from the field on the Profile tab only if the secondary address record already exists.
- If the mapped field is on a secondary address tab and that secondary address record does not already exist, the mapped field on the secondary address tab is not automatically populated with the value from the Profile tab and the field on the Profile tab can be edited. If you click in the mapped field on the secondary address tab, this field is automatically populated with the value from the Profile tab and the field on the Profile tab becomes read-only. Any subsequent changes must be made in the mapped field on the address tab.
- Both the mapped field on the address tab and the field on the Profile tab are blank - Neither field contains a value and both fields can be edited.
- If you enter a value in the mapped field on the address tab, the field on the Profile tab is automatically populated with this value and the field on the Profile tab is read-only.
- If you enter a value in the field on the Profile tab, the mapped field on the address tab is automatically populated with the value from the Profile tab (unless the mapped field is on a secondary address tab and the secondary address record does not already exist) and the field on the Profile tab is read-only.
Note: If the field on the Profile tab previously contained a value, this value is overwritten by the value in the mapped field on the address tab.
