Cloning an event
Cloning enables you to copy and duplicate an event and its functions rather than having to create a new event. Cloning is useful when you need to set up events that are identical except for the dates and times. When you clone an event, the event and function definitions are copied from the cloned event to the new event. However, only the properties that are defined in the Desktop are cloned. Web-only features, such as Search dates, Registration dates, Questions, and Program Items, are not cloned with the event.
To clone an event
- From Define an event window, select the event you want to clone.
- Click Clone to open the Event Clone window.
- Enter a new event code for the cloned event.
- Click Save.
- (optional) If iMIS is licensed for Hotels, and hotel information is defined for the event that is being cloned, iMIS asks if you want to copy hotel information:
- Click Yes to copy the hotel information (including room types).
- Click No if you do not want to copy the hotel information.
- Double-click the new event on the Define an event window to open it in the Define an event window.
- Click Edit to make changes to the event dates, times, and details.
- Click Save.
