Defining activity types

iMIS makes extensive use of the activity table to help you keep track of your organization's contact with individuals and other organizations. The following activity types are specific to fundraising efforts:

  • REQUEST - a specific request for a donation from a donor. Requests are recorded when they occur.
  • GIFT - a donation in which the donor transfers funds immediately.
  • PLEDGE - a donation in which the donor promises funds, but does not transfer them immediately. Pledges can be either single or installment pledges.
  • DONORCLUB - a level of recognition accorded donors based on their giving histories. The DONORCLUB activity is recorded in the customer's record each time a donor club is achieved by the customer.

Note: If a gift or pledge is deleted, the DONORCLUB activity is not adjusted. The Allow User Edit option must be enabled or the DONORCLUB activity cannot be modified or deleted when a gift or pledge is deleted.
