Disabling multiple warehouses
The following rules apply for disabling the Enable Multi-Warehouses option after posting inventory transactions and entering orders with the option enabled:
- Each stock item can have only one warehouse defined on the Warehouses window, and the warehouse must equal the default system warehouse defined on the Inventory System Setup window.
- A stock item's total product inventory must equal the total inventory in the product's default warehouse on the Manage products window.
- Each default warehouse defined for a stock item on the Manage products window must equal the default warehouse defined on the Inventory System Setup window.
- For all open orders for stock items, all of the products must be ordered from the default warehouse as defined on the Manage products window.
If one of the previous rules is not true, you will not be able to disable the Enable Multi-Warehouses option. To disable the option, you will have to do the following:
- Close all open orders.
- Change each stock item's default warehouse on the Manage products window to equal the default warehouse defined on the Inventory System Setup window.
- Move all of a product's inventory to the default warehouse (you can do this by entering and posting inventory adjustments and warehouse transfers).
- Delete all warehouses defined for a product on the Warehouses window except the default warehouse.
