Multiple warehouses

The following tables display the product account hierarchy that determines which account information is used when orders are invoiced. In determining account hierarchy, specific accounts take precedent over general accounts; accounts at the warehouse level supersede accounts at the product, category, and system levels.

For example, if accounts are defined for a stock item at the warehouse level, those accounts will be used when orders are invoiced. If no accounts are defined at the warehouse level, iMIS will use the accounts defined at the product level. If no accounts are defined at the product level, iMIS will use the accounts defined at the category or system level.

In the following tables, order of significance is indicated numerically, the lower the number, the greater the significance. Depending on whether a product is a stock item, non-stock item, or product kit, some accounts may not be applicable; an X indicates a non-applicable account.

Note: iMIS Orders does not look to AR/Cash for an Income account. If an Income account is not defined within the product's account hierarchy, then no Income account exists, and no Income account will be credited when an order for the product is invoiced.

Since product kits consist of multiple products and are treated as single units, iMIS uses the inventory account numbers for the individual products that make up a kit.
