Implementing SafePay as an authorization gateway

Before you go live with card authorization, you must complete these implementation steps and checks.

Note: Allow two to four weeks to complete this process.

To implement a SafePay authorization gateway

  1. Ensure you have set up card authorization in iMIS (see Setting up card authorization).
  2. Apply for a merchant bank account at a financial institution. The acquiring financial institution approves the application and notifies the SafePay authorization gateway.
  3. Register with SafePay (see Registering with SafePay) and obtain a test account with a payment server, Merchant ID, certificate files, payment host URL, and login/password for the payment administration web interface.
  4. Verify your registration setup.
  5. Install Java Virtual Machine and Java Runtime Environment (see Installing Java Runtime Environment for SafePay).
  6. Set up a SafePay Payment Client (see To set up a SafePay payment client ).
  7. (iMIS Desktop only) Submit and review test transactions in iMIS (see "To test immediate SafePay authorization).
  8. Test PaymentClient (see Example: Testing immediate authorization) outside of the iMIS environment.
  9. Set up a SafePay card authorization account (see To set up a SafePay card authorization account).
  10. Associate a credit card cash account code (see To associate a card authorization account with a credit card cash account code).
  11. Switch from test mode to live mode.

Warning!

Transactions processed through SafePay cannot be edited or deleted.

Note: For SafePay-based accounts, the authorization and capture scheme is configured on the payment server, based on the requirements of the merchant bank. This means that transactions may not be captured automatically, depending on the configuration of the account. For accounts that are not set up for automatic capture, in order to perform the captures for transactions submitted for the account, you must log in to the SafePay administration interface and perform the captures manually.
