Upgrading with a TopClass integration

There are certain changes between iMIS 2017 and iMIS EMS that may impact your TopClass integration. Before you upgrade to iMIS EMS, make sure you review the following information.

Communicate the upgrade to WBT Systems

You should communicate to WBT Systems that you are upgrading to iMIS EMS by entering a ticket in the TopClass Customer Support Portal. Communicating this information early helps with scheduling and making sure you have the required resources available to you on your upgrade date.

Provide WBT Systems with your new API endpoint

The new API endpoint will be pointing to the ASI Scheduler. It is important that WBT Systems has this new endpoint before the upgrade.

The new endpoint format is: URL/api/endpoint

Example: Your public iMIS website URL is https://abc.org. To call the party endpoint, the full API URL is: https://abc.org/api/party

Provide WBT Systems the new connection password

All TopClass connections use a specific username and password. If this password has changed or is going to change post-upgrade, provide WBT Systems with the new password.

Review the IQA queries

Review all existing queries to ensure they are running correctly and there is nothing that looks broken or incorrect. In the Instructor Lead Teaching (ILT) sync, the following are sent to TopClass:

  • Details of the event
  • Timezone
  • Host (person running the call)

In the ILT enrollment sync, the registrants are also sent to TopClass and are the enrollees in the associated course.
