Differences between Global Payments and Stripe

Review the following frequently asked questions regarding the similarities and differences between the Global Payments and Stripe gateways:

Is one-off ACH payment processing supported? Yes. The Global Payments gateway offers fully integrated direct debit ACH processing. Specifically, ACH for recurring payments (memberships and donations) requires AutoPay configuration. No. Processing one-off ACH payments is not supported for the Stripe gateway.
Can public members use saved payment methods? Yes. See Using saved payment methods. No.
Can you use the same gateway for both ACH payments and credit card payments? No. Global Payments requires separate gateways for ACH and credit card payments. Yes. The same Stripe gateway can process ACH and credit card payments.
How are rates determined? Before rates can be determined, you must first enroll with Global Payments. See Global Payments Getting Started Guide. Stripe determines rates per region. See Stripe rates.
What countries/regions are supported for each gateway? The Global Payments gateway is supported for clients in North America and Asia Pacific. See Global Payments Getting Started Guide.
