Global Payments application process: FAQ

How do I ensure my Global Payments gateway accepts ACH transactions? Using ACH with Global Payments requires an additional gateway, so if you process ACH transactions, it is important that you communicate this information early in the application process. When you are filling out the application form, be sure to mention in the Questions/Comments section that you process ACH transactions and require an additional ACH gateway. When the Global Payments account representative reaches out to you, remind them that you require an additional gateway for ACH transactions.

Note: All ACH gateways will have a merchant ID that starts with 9. Please review your credentials to ensure you are setting up the gateways correctly.

I use a separate gateway (e.g., BluePay) to process automatic payments. How will I transfer these payments to Global Payments to be processed in the Global Payments iMIS gateway? ASI has created a seamless process in which your current automatic payments are successfully transferred from your current gateway to the Global Payments gateway. Please let your account rep know you need to transfer existing automatic payments to the new gateway, and they will connect you to the designated contact person. From there, ASI and Global Payments will work together to ensure the required data is successfully imported into iMIS using the Workbook Converter, so that you can process existing automatic payments using the Global Payments gateway.

Can I fill out the application form for someone else? You can certainly fill out the form for someone else. Please make sure to put their information in the Representative area. ASI also highly recommends filling out the Referring Partner information to include the partner you are working with, so we can include them on all communications with Global Payments.

Does Global Payments have card readers? Yes, but the card readers do not directly integrate with iMIS. After applying for an account and hearing from your account rep, you can request a card reader. You can take payments through the card reader and then manually enter those payments into iMIS.

Global Payments told me I need a cancellation policy to get an account. What does that mean? If payments can be made in advance, they require a cancellation policy on your website.

Does Global Payments allow us to charge credit card fees? Global Payments does support credit card fee charges, but iMIS does not currently support it. iMIS is hoping to provide support for credit card fee charges in the future.

How long does the application process take? The application process can take 2-4 weeks from start-to-finish. Once you submit the form, Global Payments will contact you within 2-3 days and request important account information to begin the process. You will collaborate with Global Payments to complete the application process. If you have questions, please let your rep know.

Can I have more than one gateway? Currently, Global Payments is the only allowed gateway, and you can have multiple gateways within Global Payments.

We have multiple entities. Can I have a gateway account for each? Yes, you can use a gateway for each entity.
