Administrator responsibilities
iMIS includes three types of Group Administrators roles:
- Company Administrator — Manage other contacts linked to their organization's record. They can add, edit, and remove other contacts as well as register them for events or pay membership fees on their behalf.
- Committee Administrator — Add contacts to or remove contacts from a committee roster.
- Chapter Administrator — Manage contacts in a chapter. Chapter Administrators can edit other contacts as well as register other contacts for events or pay membership fees on their behalf.
These roles can be assigned to your members, donors, or other constituents to perform certain actions online.
Company Administrators can perform actions on records linked to the company for which they are the administrator. Chapter Administrators can perform actions on records within a given chapter. Both the Company and Chapter Administrators can be the administrators of more than one company or chapter.
The Chapter Administrator role requires a Group Admin license. For more information on these roles, see Managing iMIS security settings.
Note: If you do not see the Company Administrator role as an available option to assign to a contact, make sure the _ORG-ADMIN relationship type is defined at Settings > Contacts > Relationship types. If you need to add the relationship type, define the Relationship type as _ORG-ADMIN, Description as Company Administrator, and enable Use Description.
Note: System administrators have access to everything in iMIS, such as assigning logon credentials and user types (Public, Casual, Full), adding roles and groups, assigning access for staff users, assigning the System Administrator role to other users, and disabling user accounts.
