How term length is established when generating membership renewals

A member’s term length is populated based on the following hierarchy:

  1. Renew Months: If the member has a value greater than 0 defined in their Renew months field, iMIS uses that value as the term length. Out-of-the-box, the Renew months property (CsContact. RenewMonths) is located on the Overview or Membership tab in the Membership details panel.

  3. Use primary fee product to determine term length: If the Renew months field is blank or has a value of 0 and the billing cycle has Use primary fee product to determine term length enabled, the member’s term length is defined in the primary fee billing product in the Term span in months field.

  5. Membership settings: If Use primary fee product to determine term length is disabled and the Renew months is set to 0, the Standard billing interval value is used (Settings > Membership).

  7. iMIS default: If none of the above are set, the default iMIS setting is used, which is 12.
