Commerce testing

Test and review the following areas related to commerce.

Settings

Before you begin testing commerce, make sure the order type settings are defined:

  1. Go to Settings > Commerce > Order types. Make sure there is at least one Credit Memo, Debit Memo, inventory returns, and inventory additions defined.
  2. Go to Settings > Commerce > General. Make sure the following settings are configured:
    • Order type for invoice credit adjustments
    • Order type for invoice debit adjustments
    • Order type for inventory item returns
    • Order type for adjustments containing additional inventory items

Products

Important! Products containing special pricing are honored but cannot be edited. The Uses pricing rules message appears below prices with existing special pricing rules. It is highly recommended that these products are recreated using the new out-of-the-box special pricing implementation. new out-of-the-box special pricing implementation. The rules can be deleted using the steps outlined in the post-upgrade checklist.

Do the following to test and review products:

  1. Are all products appearing (Commerce > Find products)?
  2. Note: If an Active product is not appearing until you enable Include inactive results, it could be due to the product's configuration in the iMIS Desktop. Review the Pre-upgrade checklist note for details.

  3. Is shipping only enabled for products that require shipping? If so, any purchaser needs a valid shipping address to purchase the product.
  4. Example: It is important to check products for shipping before attempting to purchase a product. If shipping is enabled for a product but the person purchasing the product does not have a shipping address defined, iMIS presents an error in the Cart, and you cannot purchase the product until shipping is disabled or a shipping address is defined.

  5. Can you add notes or details to a product? Make sure Allow purchaser to enter details is enabled for the product.
  6. Can you purchase a product?
  7. Can you create a new product?
